Fedor Vladimirovich Emelianenko is a Russian former professional mixed martial artist, sambist, and judoka. He has won championships and accolades in multiple sports, most notably in MMA Pride Fighting Championships, FIAS World Combat Sambo Championship, and Russian Judo Federation National Championship.

Fedor started training in Sambo as a child. After completing high school and graduating school, Fedor joined the Russian Army and served until 1997. He started competing as a martial artist soon after, winning gold at the European Sambo Championship. He competed in about 20 international tournaments from that point, winning over 12 gold medals. Fedor first competed in MMA in Rings Russia: Russia vs. Bulgaria back in 2000. He would go on to fight to a record of 10-1 before gaining the attention of Japan's Pride FC. Fedor would go on a tear, winning all of his fights in Pride, ending with a 26-1 record, never losing a fight under their banner despite going against the best mixed martial artists on the planet. His 10 yrs reign is still one of the longest in the history of the sport. He would go on to fight in many other promotions through the end of his career, but never came to a deal with Dana White for the UFC. Fedor finished his professional MMA career with a 40-7 (1 NC). Many consider him the greatest heavyweight of all time. We at mmastubs.com consider him one of the GOAT's of mma period.
